Introduction

The Approach 580 area is one of eight Merseyside locations which have been designated as Strategic Investment Areas (SIAs) under the European Objective 1 programme which runs until 2007.

SIAs are business areas which are seen as having the greatest potential for economic growth with the help of Objective 1 funding.

The Approach 580 SIA - which covers parts of Knowsley and Liverpool focuses on the A580 East Lancashire Road between Aintree and Knowsley and forms one of the key gateways into the city centre and region from the M57 motorway.
